Winter Park Village and town has become a “summer playground” for mountain biking, hiking, and well…mountain biking! The mid-summer monsoon season has arrived and rivers are the highest since 1987. Probably won’t try river rafting this trip. Afternoon thunder showers shut down the lifts regularly but only briefly…there are singletrack trails to bomb down. Temps are cool and the breezes are heavenly.
Part of the Fraser Valley, the town is very similar in size as well as population fluctuations of Port Aransas. But here the snow brings the masses all winter and summer is quiet and uncrowded.
