The moon came up; dolphins were surfing, ducks were swimming and a huge tree was bobbing under the pier. I guess, it’s true, “if you don’t go, you won’t know.”

One Last Look. Dec 13, 2015

DSC_0475Oh me oh my, what colors! The water turned to a shiny onyx, the sky to an orange then to a rose. Sarah and I snapped away till light was too low for us and the heron.

Pier to Jetty Swim. Dec 9, 2015

Laura and Des swam the mile distance from the pier to tip of the jetty with kayak, SUP and dolphin support! Laura was super fast. Other than Des scaring a few fisherman on the jetty with his speedo, it was a smooth crossing for him in the 62 degree water. What a gorgeous day to fulfill their goal.

Sunset Blues Crew. Dec 8, 2015

DSC_0115Late afternoon brought pink light onto the blue water paddle out.

While it may not be “a date that will live in infamy”,  it was a memorable surf session. After all, it’s not every day that you find yourself making a lane for a Hawaiian outrigger 4 man surfing canoe. Beautifully built by Dave Parsons, this thing can surf!

Thanks to everyone! Great movie night and great company!

A Tribute to the Port Aransas Surfing gals played before our short film segment.

The feature favorite was “Catch It’ which profiled Lea Brassy and her nomadic surfing lifestyle in the Lofoten Islands, Norway. Watch it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVUtSDKy3TM

Little Monday. Nov 2nd, 2015

One more day of swell, thank you!

DSC_0375

That’s what I’m talking about!   The swell graced us with its presence for 3 distinct days. Hope you surfed your little arms off.  What a joy to watch everyone, especially those wave-catching machines- Port A middle schoolers- you guys rock!

Halloween Surf. Oct 31st, 2015

DSC_0081 (1)Like they say, “If you can surf Port A, you can surf anywhere!”  The front brought wind, rain and swell.   But it got even better the next day.
