CRANKWORX COLORADO 2011

Crankworx Colorado Mountain Bike Festival, July 28-30, 2011. Winter Park.

Events at the mountain  base drew most of the crowds. The Slopestyle and Dual Slalom competitions featured the world’s best. It was the XGames of mountain bike sports. From 39 year old champion Brian Lopes beating kids half his age to Anthony Messere, just 15, getting  air with expressive finesse at  slopestyle. There were some gnarly wipeouts but the worst I saw was a dislocated and possibly fractured shoulder. A no hands front flip by Cam McCaul was spectacular and won him 1st place. It takes a special mix of talent to do these tricks.
