Marinedreams

Monthly Archives: September 2016

I spotted the Port Aransas Lifeguards on their daily training paddle this  morning.  Thanks for the photo op!  Garrett tested out the new  Xterra 12.6 Inflatable Touring board. The water was deliciously clear,  but the clouds and sky had most of my attention.

Go LD,  making fun outta nuttin’ !

I love September. Today’s water was clear and calm enough to see wildlife.  Des landed a Spanish mackerel and another kayaker hooked skipjack (aka “the poor man’s tarpon”) and reported seeing a 10 foot manta ray! I’m pretty sure it was a group of ling that appeared not far from me. Whatever they were, they were big. Enjoy the water everyone!

Just before the “whomp” at G street last Wednesday, there was a small swell at the pier. The morning sunlight beautifully enhanced the water color like it always does: deep marine green on the front side and light, seafoam green when backlit. Gorgeous! Surfers weren’t  bad either.
