I love September. Today’s water was clear and calm enough to see wildlife.  Des landed a Spanish mackerel and another kayaker hooked skipjack (aka “the poor man’s tarpon”) and reported seeing...

The moon came up; dolphins were surfing, ducks were swimming and a huge tree was bobbing under the pier. I guess, it’s true, “if you don’t go, you won’t know.” 

Could have been a spring day with light winds, warm temps and plenty of blue sky. Perfect for a boat ride in the flats. Reds were plentiful but not  biting today....

Gorgeous, clear water and roosting white pelicans  made this a day to document. 

Time to go down under at the jetty.

Good morning Mustang Island! Today began with a  slow rolling swell. The tempo didn’t change much other than the addition of a few clouds and gentle breezes. Brown pelicans and cormorants...

Charile’s Pasture Nature Preserve is especially beautiful in the late afternoon.

Another sunset at Charlie’s Pasture…the sky quietly moved from yellow to orange to purple to blue to black.
